June's thirty-year average holds at 15 mm of rain over just 3 days, with days at 29.3°C and nights dropping sharply to 19.7°C, the first real cold snap of the year after May's 21.2°C. The land is still green from the rains, but the tracks are dry enough to drive properly for the first time since February.

The camps come back on 1 June
Beho Beho reopens on 1 June exactly, and Kiba Point, Roho ya Selous, Sand Rivers Selous, Siwandu, Lake Manze, Sable Mountain and Rufiji River Camp all restart their seasons within the same window. After five months of a thin map, the full roster of properties is suddenly available again.
Wild dog denning starts in June too and runs through August. Packs anchor to a single den site and hunt out and back twice a day, which turns a normally mobile species into something closer to a fixed appointment for the three months it lasts.
